BUILDING CHARACTER: Resilience and Learned Optimism
In this character-building lesson about the Woodson Principle of resilience, students learn to find strength in the face of adversity and draw wisdom from setbacks and failures. Asking students to rethink the way they “frame” negative experiences and “talk to themselves” about challenges they face, this lesson makes the case for a rational, learned optimism that is genuinely empowering.
