CAN

The Woodson Center’s Community Affiliate Network (CAN) is a nationwide association of community-based leaders who are solving America’s most challenging social problems from the ground up. We currently have hundreds of organizations and individuals within the network spread across the country. Through CAN, these organizations and individuals can network, find potential collaborators, and share best practices.

CAN also assists its members through the CAN mini-grant program. This program allows grassroots organizations to develop a project, obtain modest funding, and present the results of the project without having to navigate the cumbersome paperwork and bureaucratic barriers that often prevent smaller, more nimble organizations from being funded.

Testimonials

“I want to thank you, the Woodson Center, for continuing to do your grants. Not just for Anacostia AMP but all the smaller organizations that really need the support. I am thankful for the opportunities that I’ve had to get the grant in the past. It has helped me to stay the course. The organization has stayed the course and kept the kids in programs, kept them in something positive and off the streets.”

“I’m proud to be a Joseph under the foundation of the Woodson Center…You dealt with me personally on helping me through our situation. Foundations don’t do that. But you were patient, you worked with me, you got back with me. I wish nothing but the best for the Woodson Center. You’re appreciated, and I know I speak for the whole, by me and the village that you help support and serve.”

Feet on the Street Ministries

“Bob Woodson and the Woodson Center were the first to not only believe in my organization, but also provided our initial funding in 2004. Their support helped us establish a solid foundation, including technical assistance with setting up our bylaws and board of directors. Now, 20 years later, we’ve built a sustainable program that empowers countless children and families with the tools to thrive in life.”
