Located in the Bay Creek community of Cape Charles, VA, the Woodson Center held a tremendous panel discussion centered around the latest book release, A Pathway to American Renewal: Red, White, and Black Vol II. Our featured panelists were Stephanie Deutsch, historian and author; Will Crossley, President of The Piney Woods School (Mississippi); and Tevya Griffin, AICP, Founder & President of the Cape Charles Rosenwald School Restoration Initiative.
With our founder Bob Woodson moderating, an audience of over 75 attendees —including a Purdue University student who drove 13 hours to attend— heard the panelists examine the significance of the Rosenwald schools and other historical institutions highlighted in the book, exploring the core values that defined their success—self-determination and perseverance in the face of adversity—and how these principles offer valuable lessons for addressing today’s challenges and charting a path forward to rebuild and strengthen our nation.
