While Bessie Coleman blazed a trail for Black female pilots all the way back in the 1920’s as the first African American woman aviator, over one hundred years later there aren’t enough practicing Black woman pilots to fill a Boeing 737! Kamia Bradley wasn’t deterred by that fact, and she shared her story of resilience and overcoming obstacles with the Woodson Center.
The Woodson Center exists to give a platform to those who reject victimhood, like Kamia Bradley, our modern-day Bessie Coleman who went from homeless to flight instructor. Kamia has partnered with the Woodson Center, to use her story of resilience to encourage others that they have the power to control their own destiny.
