Collette Caprara

Collette is the senior writer and editor at the Woodson Center – 1776 Unites, helping to support the needs of the 1776 team in editing Op-eds, essays, editorials and communication tools for publication. Collette spent fifteen years with the Heritage Foundation as writer and editor, and worked at the Washington Times/ World & I Magazine as Editor in the “Currents in Modern Thought” section. She also documents effective, neighborhood-based community revitalization initiatives. Her community activities include writing a weekly column for the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star and articles for the Front Porch magazine, and membership in an artists’ cooperative, the Brush Strokes Gallery. Collette holds a Bachelor’s Degree (summa cum laude), with a double major of Philosophy and English Literature from SUNY at Buffalo, and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Michigan. Collette resides in Fredericksburg with her husband David and has one son, David Angelo, living in Asia.
