Charles is a native of Lake City, Florida and a 20-year Air Force retiree who holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Mercer University and a master’s degree in Administration from Georgia College. Currently, Charles is pursuing a Doctorate of Management degree from the University of Maryland University College.
From 1972–1992, Charles served the country in the United State Air Force as a Personnel and Human Resource Technician, Supervisor and Analyst. Since 1992, in various capacities (an academician, consultant, resource developer and entrepreneur), Charles has provided leadership to start, build the capacity of, lead, manage, sustain and evaluate large and small organizations both public and private. Over the life time of his consultancy, Charles has provided leadership and partnership in helping organizations raise over 10 million dollars. As an Adjunct Professor for Central Texas College, University of Maryland University College and Prince George’s Community College, Charles taught business and management courses for 15 years.
Mr. Perry is an active and dedicated member of Metropolitan Baptist Church (MBC-89 – Present). He has served faithfully on a number of the Church’s boards, choirs, and committees.
Additionally, Charles has served on the Board of Trustees for the National Center for Children and Families (Bethesda, Maryland) and East River Family Strengthening Collaborative (Washington, DC) and is currently chairman of the PERICO Institute for Youth Development and Entrepreneurship (Jackson, Mississippi).
Charles is married and has four adult children (all college graduates), two adult step-children (1 college graduate and 1 United States Air Force Airman First Class) and eight grandchildren.
