The Woodson Center Helps Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church Expand Its Men’s Boot Camp Program
Posted By Woodson Development Team

The Woodson Center helps Indiana-based affiliate, Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, expand its Men’s Boot Camp program for men. The Men’s Boot Camp has successfully served thousands of men and boys from various walks of life for the past eleven years. Our program is intentionally designed to help men and boys become better fathers and sons fostering healthier families and communities, said Darryl K. Webster, agency director.  Our specialized character based approach encourages, equips and empowers boys and men toward positive transformation. The success of our program has allowed us to expand to reach students in alternative education, formalize satellite camps throughout the United States, establish a concentrated boot camp for boys, offer employment readiness and placement, birth and nurture entrepreneurship as well as mentor current inmates and prepare for a pilot camp in the correctional system. Funding from the Woodson Center helped with the overall operation of the Boot Camp including the enhancement of our mentoring program in the schools and prison system and helps to facilitate other activities such as job readiness training for unemployed men particularly those with felonies.
